沉香勾絲是什麼？
採集沉香時為了保持其完整，必然會將樹木的一部分木質與結香一起採下來，因此，採下來的沉香必須要經歷最基本的理香過程。勾絲就是這個過程中的產物。
 
在鉤除木質的過程中，所鉤下來的木屑上還是不可避免的會帶有極少量的油脂，人們管這種木屑就叫沉香勾絲。
 
泡飲：
沉香勾絲在泡茶、泡酒時也有一定的優勢，適宜的絲狀結構有利於沉香中的有益成分析出，能在更短的時間內飲用，起到養生保健的效果。
入茶。將一定數量的沉香勾絲用高溫熱水清洗一遍，然後用溫水沖泡飲用，適宜於體寒人士飲用，具有補氣之療效。
入酒。將一定數量的沉香勾絲用高溫熱水清洗後，置於少量酒中炮製飲用，具有補氣壯陽之功效。
薰香：
體積細小輕薄有利於香氣的充分揮發，相比較沉香粉末又耐著住受熱，因此在薰香時香氣變化更為細膩，所以勾絲是很好的薰香材料。
將一定數量的沉香勾絲置於電子薰香爐中，用薰香爐的熱量將勾絲中的香油揮發出來，以達到品香的作用。使用時，薰香爐的溫度不要過高，否則容易烤焦木質而散發出焦味，因以150-200攝氏度為宜。
